Top class basketball will remain on the agenda for the area's fans this season despite Crystal Palace Basketball Club's close season merger with the London Towers.

Following two tough years in the Budweiser League, Palace have joined forces with the Towers and fans can look forward to a partnership with the sport's most successful club over the past three seasons. And though Palace fans are distraught at the prospect of losing their identity, the club will continue to play half their home games at the Crystal Palace sports centre. Towers start the new season with the Sainsbury's Basketball tournament against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Partizan Belgrade and Panathin-aikos at Wembley Arena on September 5 and 6.
