Haringey's new mayor, Cllr Sheila Peacock, has signalled her commitment to her mayoral charity by launching the fund with a personal donation of £1,000.
Her chosen charity this year is the Breast Care Clinic at the North Middlesex Hospital in Edmonton. She hopes to raise enough money to completely refurbish the clinic.
Sheila announced her own donation at her mayor-making and presented a giant cheque to surgeon Jeremy Woods and specialist breast care nurse Mairead Griffin. They had looked after her when she was diagnosed as having breast cancer.~
