HARD WORKING fund-raisers for the Enfield branch of the Arthritis Research Campaign were congratulated on their efforts at a special ceremony last week.

Over the last year the branch has collected £10,750 for vital research, earning it a pat on the back from Fergus Logan, the charitys new chief executive.

Mr Logan met the group at a meeting of 200 delegates at the Royal College of Physicians in Regents Park last Wednesday.

In 1997 more than £20 million was raised and granted to doctors and scientists engaged in finding the cause and cure for all forms of arthritis and rheumatic disease, an increase of around £1 million on the previous year. For more information about the charity telephone 0181 363 1134.
