Previously unbeaten Hertsmere U8s lost the Final of the London Colney Colts 6-a-side tournament to Harpenden Colts.
Hertsmere went a goal down early on were unable to find the back of the net.
Josh Galloway put his side 1-0 up in the opening match against the hosts.
A tap in from Carl Edwards and a second half strike from Casey Burton made the final score 3-0.
The following match resulted in a 0-0 draw against St Albans City. A solitary strike from Edwards was enough to give his side a 1-0 win over Edson.
Hertsmere needed a win in their next match, against Riverside Hibs, to secure a place in the final and they did it after a nerve-racking penalty shoot-out.
Scorers were Edwards, Galloway and Clarke. Keeper Scotty Howes made four tremendous saves.
