Saturday, April 4: Fulham 2, Preston NE 1

Tuesday, April 7: Fulham 1,Walsall 1

In fifth place in Division Two, Fulham are confidently looking forward to tomottow's sell-out game away to Brentford.

Much speculation about new signings has died down now the transfer deadline has passed, and with a win and a draw from the last two games, hopes are high.

In Tuesday's match against Walsall, substitute Paul Trollope's equaliser three minutes from time, saved Fulham's blushes and gave them hope for a place in the play-offs.

Fulham were in control for most of this game, and enjoyed plenty of possession, but possession alone does not win football matches.

Walsall, who provided the best player on the pitch in Roger Boli, looked a reasonable team although they lacked ambition.

Boli opened the scoring on the half hour with a goal that was as good example of counter attacking football when he cleverly linked with fellow Frenchman Didier Tholot. Boli's resulting shot from 15 yards rocketed into the top corner of the net. Paul Moody missed a good chance but his shot was headed off the line by Adrian Viveash.

Walsall goalkeeper James Walker produced two stunning saves to deny the all-action Matthew Blazier, but there was nothing he could do in the final minutes when Trollope hooked home from close range, after Walsall had failed to clear Paul Bracewell's innocuous cross.

In Saturday's game two second half goals from Fulham were enough to beat visitors Preston.

After a quiet opening, the game came to life midway through the first half.

Brazier making his first home appearance was outstanding.

He opened his goalscoring account for the club by equalising John Maken's first-half goal for the once-illustrious opponents.

Preston's goalkeeper Teuvo Moilanen appeared to be unsighted when Wayne Collins drove the ball home from the edge of the box to earn Fulham's second goal.

Fulham travel to local rivals Brentford on Saturday and entertain Carlisle on Easter Monday, kick-off 3pm.
