Hertsmere's U17s booked their place in the semi-final despite having played just one match since December 16.

But they still managed to dominate this challenge cup quarter-final tie, but failed to make the breakthrough in the first-half due to a lack of quality with the final ball into the box.

In the second period Hertsmere still struggled with their game and, with 20 minutes left, the inevitable happened, St Albans caught Hertsmere on the break to go 1-0 in front.

This seemed to be the shock that Hertsmere needed to wake them up, and, within five minutes, Chris Murray equalised with a superb chip over the keeper. Hertsmere now raised the tempo and Ross Marle made the score 2-1 following a one-on-one with the keeper. With just minutes remaining, Ross scored again to make the final score 3 - 1.
