MYSTERY still surrounds the death of 18-year-old Christopher Noel found at the bottom of a multi-storey car park.

Richard Hulett, coroner for Buckinghamshire, gave an open verdict on the death at a High Wycombe inquest on Tuesday.

Dr Yoon Chia, consultant pathologist, told the inquest Christopher had died from multiple skull fractures and head injuries following his fall from the Dovecot car park in High Wycombe during the early hours of May 15.

His mother, Velma, of Benjamin Road, High Wycombe, was abroad when the tragedy happened.

She told the inquest when she returned from holiday 'he had emptied his wardrobe and packed his clothes into black bags'. The mother-of-three described how her son had left a screen saver on his computer which read 'I love you, sorry'.

Maureen Sadler, who lives at the Hogs Head pub near the car park, heard a scream at 4.18am the morning Christopher died.

A statement read out for her at the inquest stated: "I suddenly heard a noise outside the pub, it sounded like a long continuous scream from a male's voice. I would describe it as a tarzan scream. Then it sounded like a skateboard had hit the kerb."

Mr Hulett said: "I think it is certain that in the past few days he was struggling with various difficulties. There could be a dozen explanations for the low mood."
