Edgware T 1 Windsor & Eton 2

Ryman League Division Two

An own goal from defender Shayne Chandler sent Edgware crashing to their seventh home league defeat of the season on Saturday.

The goal arrived with 12 minutes to play with Chandler diverting a cross that looked like it was going out past keeper Martin Keys.

The home side had started brightly and were able to field the same side that beat Banstead a week previously.

Edgware took the lead on 22 minutes, Fabio Valentis fine run and cross from the left found Christian Glynn in the area. However, the rangy midfielder was pulled down and the referee immediately pointed to the spot.

Steve Newing stepped up and made no mistake scoring his third goal in four appearances.

Minutes later Windsor carved out the equaliser, Gavin Menagh beat the Wares defensive line, cut inside the area and beat Keys.

Edgware started the second half at pace and seven minutes in a fierce volley was fumbled by Keith Kamamoro in the visitors goal and Scott Beattie was on hand to net, but the referee disallowed the goal judging the forward to have committed a foul.

Then, on 78 minutes, came Chandlers own goal and Edgware found no way back.
