Hi! Welcome to my new Charity Page. In future, and over the next few weeks, I shall be focusing my attention on the world's largest national children's charity. You guessed it UNICEF.

This particular charity, of which most of us are aware, does so very much for the children of the world.

The year 2001 was a challenging one for UNICEF which championed various emergencies, including devastating floods and famines.

Mozambique immediately springs to my thoughts, being the poorest nation in the world.

They also suffered famine and malnutrition, as the floods wiped out everything. UNICEF's Emergency Relief Programme ploughed no less than £4,865,000 into that nation to assist the starving and dying people.

The children were provided with the main necessities, and many survived.

Investing in children is the best investment our world can make. We, as parents, want to build A Better World..

We want the very best for our children, whether home or abroad, for generations to come.

The existence of the United Nations Children's' Fund has been helping other countries in distress for the past 53 years, and thanks to governments, companies, individuals and yourselves, their annual turnover is £27.8m.

However, even with this staggering amount there are many projects for the children awaiting urgent funding, which I will detail over the next fortnight.

Every child, whatever creed or colour, deserves the opportunity to grow-up healthy, in peace and love.

An important promise was made in 1990 at The world Summit for Children, where the world's leaders promised every child the chance of survival.

Ironically, the next World Summit for Children has recently been cancelled following the nightmare disaster of the September 11 catastrophe of the Pentagon and Twin Towers in the USA.

We must support UNICEF to help the children.

I will be visiting schools in the local area from January 8, 2002.

Yes, I will be at your child's assembly, discussing with them bullying, truancy and helping others less fortunate than themselves. I will also be singing my new song, "A Better World".

And don't forget, I am personally donating 70 per cent of the net profits to UNICEF, to help save the children of the world.

I look forward to seeing you.
