South Norwood Pool is urging residents of Croydon to don their swimming costumes and make a big splash to help raise £2 million for MacMillan Cancer Relief, as part of Swimathon 2002.
South Norwood pool is one of over 500 swimming pools taking part in Swimathon 2002 between March 18-24 across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. More than 40,000 swimmers of all ages, from grannies to grand children, are expected to take part in the event.
South Norwood Pool, Portland Road, South Norwood, is putting on an exclusive Swimathon session for local swimmers, with money raised going to leading cancer care charity, MacMillan Cancer Relief and the Swimathon foundation.
Diving into Swimathon 2002 could not be easier.
Register online at www.swimathon.org or call the hotline number on 0845 3670036 (local rate) and sign up for the event which will be taking place at South Norwood pools at 2pm on March 23, 2002.
Participants can sign up for one of six challenges:Swimathon (individual 5000m),Half Swimathon (individual 2,500m),Relay Swimathon (5,000m for four people), Fun Swimathon (individual 1,500m),
Team Swimathon (team of up to six people swimming 5,000m).
