WYCOMBE District Council holds more Charter Marks than any other district council in the country.
The news comes after the recent Cabinet Office announcement of Charter Mark winners for 2001.
With the latest additions to their list, the council holds 22 awards, second only to Lancashire County Council.
Councillor Bill Jennings, chairman of the council, said: "The council is very proud of its achievement, and whilst we're pleased to receive recognition for the hard work that goes into providing our services, the most important recognition comes from Wycombe residents themselves."
The ten criteria which form the basis of the Charter Mark Award include, setting clear standards of service, being open and providing full information to the public, consulting and involving users of the service together with the staff and providing user satisfaction.
