A PUBLIC consultation will be held in Orpington about a new proposal to introduce a parking permit system to the town centre to ease parking problems.
Leaflets and questionnaires, showing locations of proposed yellow lines and parking bays, will be distributed to residents this month.
Bromley Council parking design manager Colin Doorne said: "Residents have been affected by parking difficulties for some time. A permit scheme would prohibit all-day parking but would allow residents, shoppers and visitors to park."
He added: "We do need the views of those affected and I urge people to complete and return the questionnaire. We can only respond to comments and the system will not change unless there is support to do so."
For more information about the scheme, call Bromley Council on 020 8464 3333.
