MARY Towerton School Fete, held last Saturday, was a great success. Former and present pupils, staff, parents and governors joined the visitors during the afternoon, with over 400 attending. As it was the school's 25th anniversary many past pupils enjoyed the chance to meet each other again. A photo was taken of all the past pupils which will be an interesting souvenir and the event raised over £3,000.

AFTERNOON teas will be served in the St Francis Room at St Peter & St Paul Church on Saturday from 2.30-4pm when you will be able to partake of home-made cakes and scones, followed by strawberries and cream. The church will also be open to visitors.

THE Over 70s Club next meets on Monday, July 9 with bingo and tea in Longburrow Hall from 2pm. New members or visitors are welcome.

STOKENCHURCH Cricket Club will be opening its new pavilion every evening during July, also at weekends during matches, when visitors are welcome to call in for a drink. All are welcome to see the village's latest acquisition after all the hard work put in by the club to make this a reality.
