The Bees raced into a two-goal first-period lead after Jutras and Mikko Kouivunoro were both sin-binned. And they increased their advantage to 3-0 when Kouivunoro was forced to sit out another spell for hooking.

Bryan Richardson then reduced the arrears only for the Bees to restore their three-goal lead nearing the end of the second period.

But in a remarkable final period, the Knights netted four magnificent goals from Jay Neal, Bronilla, Richardson and Jutras to force a 5-5 draw and take the game into five minutes of overtime. And one minute and 24 seconds into overtime, Bronilla netted his second and his sides match-winning sixth goal.

There was another thrilling finale to the match at the London Arena on Thursday night when Cardiff Devils were the visitors.

The Knights finally triumphed in a penalty shoot-out after the game was level at 4-4 after five minutes of overtime.

This was the fourth time the Knights have met The Devils in 17 days and aggressive play kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the entire game.

Devils took the lead after 9.22 minutes before Knights head coach Chris McSorley was sent from the dugout over a misconduct charge, leaving assistant coach Paul Rushforth to run the bench.

Referee Nigel Boniface finished the period one minute early due to blood on the ice after an altercation between Norris and Richison.

In a sew-saw match the Devils first doubled their lead only for the Knights to score through Brendan Yarema, Koivunoro and Richardson and Bronilla to take a 4-3 lead.

The Devils levelled to take the nutes of overtime which ended without further scoring.

But then Knights man of the match, goalminder Trevor Robbins, saved a penalty flick and Jay Neal then stepped up to score his to win the game 5-4.

The Knights next match is on Boxing Day when they entertain Bracknell Bees. Face-off at the London Arena is 4pm.
