GRAVESENDIANS can rest easy in the knowledge if they fall ill they are in the most caring hands in the county.
The town's St John's Ambulance team beat 32 other divisions to be named the best in Kent at caring for its community.
Division leader Sylvia Munns received the Chris Ellis trophy from St John's county commissioner Joyce Beak at a ceremony in the mayor's office last Tuesday, April 10.
Sylvia's husband and brigade member Les Munns said: βIt came as a complete surprise and we are delighted.β
The division, which has been in Gravesend since 1923, was also awarded a certificate for 75 years' service.
