Sutton and Wilmington Lawn Tennis Club, which has been awarded a Sport England grant of more than £800, is to offer professional coaching at just £1 a session.
Children aged eight upwards and adults can attend the training sessions being held in Oakfield Park, Wilmington, on 15 consecutive Saturdays, starting on May 12.
The club is also hosting the LTA's “Play Tennis” day on May 5.
It is aimed at encouraging those who would not normally pick up a tennis racket to do so while enjoying a fun day of tennis at no charge.
