A combination of bad luck and missed chances cost Orpington Primary Schools their unbeaten record at Thurrock.
The under-11 side travelled to Essex to play an inter-district friendly, but they made a lethargic start and only some good saves by Green St Green goalkeeper Nicholas Carter kept the score down to 2-0 at half-time.
Orpington looked a different side as they dominated the second half and three times Thurrock defenders cleared the ball off their line, but the Os were unable to hit the net.
