THE parents of two children with kidney disease have turned down offers of help from kind-hearted News Shopper readers.
Following a report on Mary and Jack Dixon, who are set to donate a kidney each to two of their children, readers called the News Shopper offering to fundraise or even donate organs. But Mary turned down all offers.
She said: I think it will do a lot more good if everyone was more aware of the problem and carried donor cards or raised funds for the National Kidney Helpline. Call the helpline on 0845 300 1499 or e-mail helpline@NKRF.org.uk
