My husband had an appointment at Orpington Hospital recently. He has a disabled orange badge but, on arriving, the five disabled parking bays were full, one had an ambulance in it, next to that was a black car with no orange badge.

I understand the ambulance could have been an emergency, but not the black car. My husband has had two knee-joint operations and has a job to walk with his sticks, I have a heart problem and also have trouble walking.

Well, we went to the car park which was full, we drove around until we could find somewhere to park.

In the end, we had to park on double yellow lines but being a hospital, we made doubly sure we werent obstructing ambulances or buses before leaving the car.

When we returned to the car, we had a parking ticket on it saying we were obstructing.

There was no phone number, so as soon as we got home, my husband wrote to them enclosing a stamped address envelope.

However, to date we have not received any reply.

My husband did explain things in the letter (he is 84 and I am 80).

We have never been in any trouble with the police or anyone else in our lives, we have both worked from the age of 14 until retirement at 65 and my husband also served in the Second World War for six years and has five medals to prove it.

I think it is disgusting. Its a pity the person who put the ticket on the car did not go to the disabled spaces and put tickets on the cars that didnt have badges.

We now have to send £15 to them which we can ill afford.
