FATHER-of-two Chris Forrester died after trying to fix a broken-down skip lorry on the M40 after stopping to help the driver.

Mr Forrester, of Windsor Road, Gerrards Cross, was seriously injured underneath the vehicle on Thursday, when it suddenly moved forward.

The 58-year-old, who ran CC Forrester Waste Ltd, in Beaconsfield, was taken to Wycombe Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The accident happened at about 2.15pm on the southbound exit slip road at the Beaconsfield turn-off.

A statement released by Mr Forrester's family said that they were devastated by his death, and would find it very difficult to come to terms with.

The family said Mr Forrester enjoyed life to the full, was a great dad and a loving husband. It added he was a larger-than-life personality and was a well-respected local businessman, having built up CC Forrester Waste Ltd.

Mr Forrester was born in Devon but lived most of his life in Gerrards Cross. He was married to Penny, and leaves two daughters, Candy and Christal.

His chief interest was flying, and he had attained a private pilot's licence in 1999, and often joked that he "had to fill up with gas before taking off as there were no filling stations" in the sky".
