DAVID GRIFFITHS is one step closer to securing his US Tour card at the first time of asking after making it through the initial qualifying stage at the National Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
A four-round total of 285 ensured Griffiths was comfortably included in the top 21. He tee's off in the penultimate qualifying stage in Florida next week.
Meanwhile, Sam Little of Moor Park, is in Spain competing in the second stage of the European Tour Q-School. At the half-way mark he was one shot off a qualification-place.
