WATFORD RESERVES lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Aldershot on Monday, October 22, but there were no complaints about the performance from boss Ray Lewington.

"I was pleased with the performance. In the first half we were cancelling each other out. I imagine from the sidelines it was pretty boring.

"In the second half, we took the game to them. I was very pleased the way they played with a young side," he said.

Chelsea opened the scoring at Aldershot with a 25- yard speculative shot into the far corner of the net.

Watford then dominated and Dominic Foley, on a better day, might have got two goals. Elliott Godfrey was denied a goal by a fantastic save by the Chelsea keeper who played well.

Chelsea were hanging on but with 10 minutes to go, and Lewington thought it was worthwhile taking a gamble with three up front and four in midfield, try to win the game. Chelsea scored on the break to record a flattering win.
