A MOTHER of four has criticised police for failing to catch her estranged husband, despite having a warrant out for his arrest for two months.

Mrs Angie Molloy, of Woodland Way, Bedmond, said she wants to get the press involved because she is frustrated the police have not acted on her tip-offs about his whereabouts.

The warrant for Mr Declan Molloy's arrest was issued on Tuesday, June 19, for failing to appear at Watford Magistrates Court on a charge of attempted burglary.

On Friday, August 10, Mrs Molloy, 38, called the police to say he was in a local pub, but they didn't turn up until an hour and-a-half later.

Mrs Molloy said: "I think it is completely useless. I think it is disorganised, because I have told them exactly where he is living.

"They have to have the manpower to have someone sit up there at the time I give them and catch him that way."

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesman said: "We did have a call from Mrs Molloy on Friday but officers couldn't get there because they were busy and have to prioritise with emergency incidents.

"There are ways and means of getting people who fail to appear. It happens all the time, people failing to appear at court. We have a squad of Special Constables that go round at weekends to arrest these people.

"With him having no fixed address it makes it more difficult. Officers cannot just waste their time chasing him around.

"Attention will be paid to her address. And if there are any sightings, the police will do their best to get there.

"Our priority is attending emergency incidents, or where there is a serious possibility of apprehending offenders.
