Entrants let their hair down in solo sessions

COMPETITORS at the Glasgow Music Festival got the chance to let their hair down yesterday with more than an hour apiece devoted to piano solos in the rock and ragtime or blues genres.

The co-ordination of six different threesomes was put to the test in the “six hands on one piano event”.

Before the boogie broke out, the piano had contributed to a conventional programme of solos and duets. The day’s proceedings closed with solo vocalists performing Britten, Vaghan Williams, Purcell, Bach, Handel and Massenet.
