Brideshead feels the class divide
12:41pm Friday 3rd October 2008
First, the important stuff: Aloysius is alive and well. There had been rumours that the teddy bear had been given his marching orders from Julian Jarrold’s Brideshead Revisited, but here he is, in the arms of dear, dear Sebastian once more.

The Fall (15)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
Having made his name directing commercials, music videos and The Cell, Tarsem Singh turns in another gorgeous wonder.

Fly Me to the Moon (U)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
This animated tale of flies that hitch a ride on a space mission is rather an ugly bug.

Fear(s) of the Dark (12A)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
Six artists, including Charles Burns of Black Hole fame, put their fears into graphic form in this animated collaboration.

Good Dick (15)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
From its teasing title to its spiky heroine, Marianna Palka’s drama about a depressed young woman with a porn habit means to provoke.

88 Minutes (15)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
Al Pacino’s hair is almost as tall as he is in this ridiculously overblown thriller.

Import/Export (18)
 Thursday 2nd October 2008
It's grim out east in this outstanding drama from the Austrian director of Dog Days.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People (15)
 Wednesday 1st October 2008
Such is the frenetic style of this comedy, based on the memoir of celebrity-fixated journalist Toby Young, a better title might have been something bright and sleazy such as Confessions of a Wordsmith, or Carry On Up the Red Carpet.

I've Loved You So Long (12A)
12:57am Thursday 25th September 2008
England's acting rose Kristin Scott Thomas gets another chance to show off her flawless French in this upscale family drama. Like the 2006 French language thriller Tell No One in which she starred, I've Loved You So Long brings arthouse style to a strong story to riveting effect.

Death Race (15)
12:03am Thursday 25th September 2008
Fast cars, fast women, headbanging soundtrack: there's clearly nothing in this remake of Death Race 2000 to interest the average teenage boy. Should any junior Jeremy Clarkson types want to give it a whirl, Jason Statham (Crank) plays Jensen Ames, locked up for a crime he didn't commit.

Redbelt (15)
12:01am Thursday 25th September 2008
Redbelt is what happens when you put an intellectual in charge of an action movie, for good and ill. David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross) writes and directs this roundabout tale of a jujitsu instructor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) whose noble instincts are tested when he comes into contact with the movie business and the fight game.

The Foot Fist Way (15)
 Thursday 25th September 2008
The second of two martial arts themed movies this week. Jody Hill's comedy is an infinitely dumb and dumber affair. Shot in the style of The Office, it's complete with a David Brent-like tae kwon do instructor instead of a paper supplies manager.

Swing Vote (12A)
 Thursday 25th September 2008
What is it with Kevin Costner and the US presidency? After sorting out the Cuban missile crisis in Thirteen Days and attempting the same with the Kennedy assassination in JFK, he pops up weeks before Americans go to the polls with a lesson in civics.

Appaloosa (15)
 Thursday 25th September 2008
Westerns remain a neglected genre but as anyone who caught last year's 3:10 To Yuma can attest, each new arrival is generally worth seeing. E
