Nowadays electronic music can sound so organic it's a wonder it doesn't rise up fully formed from beneath our dancing shoes. Yet, though he makes it sound easy, Metronomy's skills are a thing of wonder indeed. A superbly realised trip into an ethereal otherworld of serene, subtle synths and unruly guitar, first album Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe) was a fantastic first glimpse into the psyche of the artist also known as Joseph Mount. The impending follow-up, Nights Out, should make attendance mandatory.
