Thank you very much for highlighting Glasgow City Council's calculator that shows gain or loss under the SNP's proposed local income tax scheme to replace council tax.
I suspect that if it were intended to show people they would lose out, the city council should have thrown principles to the wind and slanted the calculator. I found I would be £462 better off per year.
It's one thing to see the arguments that council tax unfairly penalises those on low to moderate incomes such as myself, but it's another to see it quantified in front of you.
If I saved that much in local income tax each year, I might even have enough money to service the interest on my student debt. You can but dream.
