Geraint Evans, NO2ID Scotland, (Letters, September 6) is not content with trying to deny me the right to carry an ID card which could save my life with the medical information it contained and include my driving licence etc. He is now trying to stop a national database of DNA which would convict more criminals, avoid more miscarriages of justice and aid medical research.

I suspect the vast majority of honest Scots would have no problem with the implementation of either of these potential life-saving measures.
