Celebrations in Glasgow

More than 1000 people crowded into the Old Fruitmarket in the
city's Candleriggs to hear the announcement and the venue erupted
when the good news was beamed live from Sri Lanka.

SNP Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "It was so nerve-racking.
"The moment of the announcement seemed like an eternity but it's a great result and well-deserved.

"I think there'll be a party atmosphere in Glasgow for quite some time after this announcement."
