A recent heritage article asking for the location of Frank Cole's Radio and Television shop has been sent to me.

The name of Murphy radio dates the photograph to about 1930 when I first knew of Frank Cole.

He was one of five friends who had attended Norbury Manor School, leaving in 1924.

As far as I know they all lived in the Tylecroft Toad/Northborough Road/Isham Road area.

They continued playing cricket togather and some went on holidays together until the mid-1930s.

Their names were Frank Cole, Arthur Karnon, Harry Bickmore, Harry Drake and Pat McCarthy. Arthur Karnon was my brother in law.

If Frank Cole the radio and television dealer was indeed one of the five, shop number seven would have been in Croydon because of the school and probably locates number seven roughly between Roche Road and Fairview Road in London Road in Norbury.

This would be confirmed if those shops were renumbered after 1930 or if they were once numbered as a terrace.

I understand that Frank Cole was an only child but do not known if the shop was his or his

father's.
