Kingstonian start the new season without a shirt sponsor - because they are looking for a five-fold increase on last year's deal with the Emporium Club.

That means the team will run out against Hereford with their old sponsors' name on their shirts and on Tuesday night at Yeovil the Ks' shirts will carry no advertising.

Club director Alan Kingston, who has been involved in negotiations, said: "We had hoped to get a deal done before the start of the season but that's not been possible.

"But we've still got three irons in the fire and we are pushing them as hard as possible."

The Ks director agreed it was "very unfortunate" that no sponsor was yet on board but said that "a carefully constructed sponsorship package" was being offered to big national companies.

He predicted a deal would be struck within weeks and said the launch could be a celebrity event involving Page 3 models wearing Ks shirts and nothing else!
