TRAINING TIME AT LIBRARIES.
Richmond's libraries are now opening one hour later on Mondays to allow time for staff training. A council leaflet says staffing levels are so low there is little time for staff to be trained how to use the new computer equipment.
`BULGE' CLASS.
Orleans Infant School is to get a new `bulge' class to cater for the 15 or so potential pupils who could not find anywhere in St Margarets to be taught.
Calls for a new school were rejected by councillors at a public meeting.
PAVEMENT FINES.
Pavement cyclists could be fined £20 a throw if they are caught on the streets of Richmond. The new fine is set to be introduced later this year in response to an increased number of complaints from pedestrians.
OFSTED HAPPY.
Teaching at St Stephen's Primary School in Twickenham has been judged `excellent' or `very good' in 80 per cent of lessons, according to the latest report from Ofsted inspectors.
TASTINGS GALORE.
