GREENWICH Council employees have been celebrating among themselves after scooping in-house awards.
Various departments had to nominate the very best examples of staff who care about customers and take pride in the service they offer.
Principal care manager Patricia Letchfield was this year's winner of the Greenwich Corporate Customer Care Awards for her work with destitute asylum seekers.
She received a cheque for £250 and a gold certificate.
Winner of the silver certificate and £150 was Duncan Ross, of Greenwich Direct Services, for his work on the Home Safe Scheme.
Director of contract services John Rodgers, who nominated Mr Ross, said: "Rarely would I single out an individual to receive this award, as team work plays a vital role in our service. However, Duncan's single-handed approach to his work needs to be highlighted."
A joint committee services and youth workers' team was runner up for working on ways to implement the council's youth sub-committee's commitment to the value of young people as citizens.
