Wimbledon away to Ruislip in this London League One encounter was an interesting prospect with both teams placed in the middle of the league, just one point apart after 14 games.

Against the wind and up the slope in the first half, Wimbledon found the going hard. Ruislip went ahead 8-0 with a try and a penalty. But a try from Rob Whirledge with a Richard Perkins penalty meant the teams turned around at 8-8.

From the restart, intelligent Wimbledon kicking with the wind kept Ruislip trapped in their own half and applied the screw. Todd Puller scored a try. Perkins converted to pull Wimbledon ahead 15-8.

Then a flowing move put away left wing Greg Williams for a touch down under the Ruislip posts, duly converted by Perkins moving the score on to 22-8 where it stayed to full time.

Wimbledon's last London One League game for this season is at home on Saturday against Cheshunt at Beverley Meads.
