THAME Boys won their semi-final 2-1 to become the first team from the South Bucks Youth League to get to the final of the Oxford County Youth Cup.

But they had to come from behind after a wind-assisted 40 yard strike put opponents Northleigh up after 30 minutes.

Adam Faulkner equalised in the second half to put the game into extra time and the golden goal and Shaun Gibson was the hero when he calmly netted from a Michael Kendal-Smith pass.

Thame play Banbury in the final at Oxford City on April 24.

In the league, bottom team Marlow Youth gave mid-table Burnham Kats a 6-1 pasting but are still relegated from Division One.

Meanwhile, Cookham Dean featured two sets of brothers in their team as they beat Denham United Rovers.

Sibling scorers Andrew and Philip Collins both netted for Cookham Dean while Carl and Wayne Simmonds combined to set up Philip as they won 3-2.

Cookham Dean, now equal second play Thame this weekend in the League Cup semi-finals.

In Division Two, Chalfont St Peter's hopes of getting through the season unbeaten were dashed by bottom side Prestwood Colts when they were beaten 1-0.

After only three points from draws all season, Prestwood came up with the upset of the week when Jonathon Mace's strike from 20-yards found its way into the net.

Inspired goalkeeping by Danny King then kept Chalfont at bay for the rest of the match.

In Division Three, Belgrave kept up the pressure on AFC Prestwood with a 4-0 win against Widmer End. Goals came from Chris Davies, Alex Woodfine (two) and Ben Stevens.

There were goals galore when Chinnor Rangers met Chesham Rangers in Division Five.

Matt Rowley bagged four on his return up-front, with Mark Blay adding Chinnor's other. Chesham goals were by Chris Fletcher and Gavin Everett.
