STAFF and pupils at Church Langley Primary School got to grips with World Book Day by going one better and holding a book week.

On World Book Day itself, staff and pupils dressed up as some of their favourite characters.

Assistant head teacher Stacey Hammond said: "It was terrific we all had a really wonderful day.

"The theme of the week's activities was 'Carnival of Animals'.

"We looked at the work of illustrators and then the children produced a book jacket on the theme of 'Get Caught Reading', in the style of an illustrator of their choice."
