Romance will be in the air at Catford's refurbished Broadway Theatre on Valentine's Day and it will be extra-special for some lucky News Shopper readers

Incurable romantics of all ages will be dancing the afternoon away to live swing music from the 30s, 40s and 50s at a Valentine concert by the world-famous New Squadronaires Orchestra. Extra-soppy couples from the News Shopper area will be able to join in for free and sup a complementary bottle of bubbly too.

This will be the first in the venue's midweek matinee series of shows, which are popular with retired people. The audience will be invited to wallow in an unashamedly nostalgic afternoon of Big Band memories with Valentine's Day romantics especially in mind.

Originally formed in 1940, the Squadronaires continued after the war as a civilian band under the direction of Ronnie Aldrich. The present day leader of the orchestra is acclaimed musician Greg Francis, who reformed the band in 1997. Singer Lynn Kennedy will pay tribute to Dame Vera Lynn in the show.

We are inviting all you love-struck News Shopper readers to let us know how you met your partner.

Authors of the three funniest or most unusal anecdotes will win a pair of tickets to the Broadway Theatre's Valentine concert plus a bottle of bubbly and the very best one will be published in the News Shopper.

Three more will win a pair of tickets.

Entry is only open to readers living in the New Shopper areas.
