Gravesend Road Runners fielded a 12-strong squad for the Swanley Christmas road-race.
The event, run over 4.2 miles, provided a severe test of stamina for the 250 starters with conditions underfoot very heavy after the prolonged rainy spell.
First home for the Road Runners was Graham Melrose in 27 mins 51secs with club-mate Matt Dixon 19 seconds further back.
They were followed by Robert Haigh (29:00), Mike Coulter (29:55), Bill Lancaster (30:07) and Alan McBean (32:26).
For the women, Maria Davies was the highest-placed Road Runner, clocking 31:15, followed by Louise Markwick (35:13), Sarah Manley (38:39), Jan Giles (40:20), Judy Bain (42:00) and Lorraine Elcombe in 44:00.
The club is always keen to attract new members of all ages and abilities. Club night is on Tuesdays at the AEI Sports Club in Dunkirk Close, Gravesend, from 7pm. Call Patrick Lindsay on 01474 566796 or visit the website at: gravesendroadrunners.supanet.com
