TALENTED young musicians with a thirst for learning and performance can participate in a new, free programme starting in September.
People Symphony is a year-long performance, education and training scheme for 16 to 25-year-olds regardless of ability or musical background.
The programme, to be held in Lewisham, Greenwich, Hackney and Haringey, is organised by Impro Music Projects and Middlesex University.
Jazz musician Eddie Parker will direct the scheme, which will also be taught by Ibiza chill-out stars A Man Called Adam, jazz group Twittering Machine and Brazilian groove group Afoxe.
And at the end of each term students will give large-scale performances at Deptford Albany in Lewisham and Ocean in Hackney.
Musicians or teachers interested in helping with People Symphony can come to a workshop at Deptford Albany, Douglas Way, Lewisham, on Saturday May 12 at 11am.
Call 0208 411 5826 to sign up for the programme.
