THE bus driver who survived a terrifying 30ft drop was discharged from hospital last week, just one month after being pulled from his battered double-decker.

Boington Grant, of Tulse Hill, was driving the number two bus on Crystal Palace Parade in December, when it plunged off the busy road coming to rest on the Kings College, Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre below.

The still conscious Mr Grant was pulled from the wreckage and rushed to Kings College Hospital in Camberwell, where he was treated for his injuries.

He had not broken any bones.

Now at home, the 58-year-old bus driver is said to be up and about and recovering well.

Peter Batty of bus operators Arriva, was pleased Mr Grant was out of hospital and at home.

However, the commercial manager could shed no light on the cause of the crash.

Investigators from Brixton Police, who are still interviewing witnesses, have not made any comment on the cause of the crash.

If anyone saw the crash, on Friday, December 29, please call the police on 020 7326 1212.
